Son Chad and wife Jericho Crimmins Hammond, live north of Clay Center have a son, Weston Joseph who will be 1 year old April 22, 2007. Chad is still self employed construction worker and Jericho works at FarmWay Fertilizer Dept.Daughter Tracy Hammond Vering and husband Brandon, live in Greenleaf, have a daughter, Shaylee Jo, who will be 1 year old on March 24, 2007. Both Tracy and Brandon work for Citizens National Bank, Tracy in Clay Center and Brandon in Greenleaf. Merle is now retired from Farmers Union Coop following a stroke he had in July 2004. Jolene is still working for the Clay County School district 379 in the central office as payroll clerk. updated 2-27-2007
Merle is married to Jolene Elsasser from Wakefield.

Daughter Tracy and husband Brandon Vering live in Greenleaf. They have three children, Shaylee, age 4, Aubree, age 3 and Hayden age 7 months. They both work at Citizens National Bank, Tracy in Clay Center and Brandon in Greenleaf and he also farms with his Dad.
Merle is retired from Farmers Union Coop since April 2007 after have a stroke in July of 2006. Jolene is retired from USD 379 since June 2008. |
