Clay Center Connection Cruise

October 27, 2008

to

November 1, 2008

The Tillman Sisters (Sharon - 1958, LaVonne - 1963, Jeannie - 1969) are organizing a Clay Center Connection Cruise October 27 - November 1, 2008. This targets alumni, but anyone is welcome to attend. This is a 5-day cruise out of Galveston, Texas on Carnival Ecstasy with stops at Progress and Cozumel. The three of us have taken this cruise on this ship, and can advise of fun “shore” trips.

Cruise price includes: 5 Day Cruise on Carnival Ecstasy double occupancy cabin. Price includes accommodations, shipboard meals, entertainment, t-shirt, on-board cocktail party, government fees and port taxes but does not include transportation to the ship, shore excursions, gratuities and purchases of a personal nature.

Cost is $425 per person double occupancy oceanview ($365 inside cabin). Single cabins are available at about twice the price of double occupancy. Reservations with $50 per person deposit for inside or oceanview cabins is requested as soon as possible. Bookings can be made until December 31, based on availability.

Initial down payment should be made by check to Jeannie Travers, 2627 Tiana Ter, Manhattan, KS 66502 and sent with the following information for both passengers in the cabin:

Full legal name -        Date of Birth - Home Address - Home Telephone

$200 per person second payment must be made by April 15, 2008. Cruise may be paid in full at any time but must be paid by July 15, 2008. These payments can be made by personal check (or credit card with a 3% surcharge). Deposits are refundable up until July 1, 2008.

Bus to Galveston

We have a lot of interest in chartering a bus to go to and from Galveston from Clay Center. Cost will be in the range of $150 per person round trip. Bus would leave late on Sunday evening and drive all night to arrive Galveston by noon. Return would be immediately after disembarking and return to Clay Center late Saturday night. It’s about 800 miles each way. If interested please let one of us know. We’ll have final details on that after the first of the year.

Passports

The U.S. Government will soon require all cruise guests (including U.S. citizens) to be in possession of a valid passport when traveling on any Carnival cruise. This requirement may become effective as early as Summer 2008. For more information, visit www.travel.state.gov.

If you are a single and interested in finding a roommate, I can make a list of people that might be interested in sharing a cabin and put you in contact with each other.

Visiting ancient Mayan ruins, shopping, beautiful beaches and water sports are all part of the fun on this 5 Day Western Caribbean cruise with port stops at Progreso and Cozumel.

PROGRESO, YUCATAN, MEXICO

A seaside retreat located just 40 kilometers north of Merida along the Gulf Coast of Mexico, Progreso is quickly becoming an important gateway for cruise ship guests. Founded in 1872 by Juan Miguel Castro and heavily influenced by the Mayan culture, Progreso enjoys a very simple and relaxed lifestyle. Its white-sand beaches, emerald green waters and cooling gulf breezes are a natural draw for vacationers from all over the world.

COZUMEL, MEXICO

Long before Cancun became a popular destination, Cozumel was well-known as a diving spot and home to the world famous Palancar Reef, which gives divers the opportunity to view thousands of brilliantly colored fish. Non-divers can kick back on a sun-drenched beach, or enjoy any number of seaside activities, such as shopping in colorful marketplaces or dining in an open-air café.
